SCAARF has funded its second artist, Jane Harlow, one of our very own ART FOR ART participants. In February of 2011, Jane became critically ill. Her friends rallied around her and suggested she fill out our application. She is now recovering and tells us the SCAARF grant really helped her out, because she was completely unable to work. Jane is the essence of the concept behind ART FOR ART. She is an artist who became part of one of our shows, donating a portion of her sales and a piece to our raffle, helping to fund our non-profit SCAARF. Little did she imagine that she would become a recipient.
SCAARF provides:
A bridge before other assistance is made available, such as insurance payments.
A connection and guide to other sources for support.
A charitable response by the community for its artists.
